After developing and working within a specific style since 2008, one in which I have become recognized and known, I recently started painting again in a free and more abstract manner. These paintings are less illustrational and direct. More open ended. They also are more textural and less defined by line. They reflect motifs influenced by our new home in Texas, and reworked mythologies of the west. Still they incorporate the basic elements of the Tornillo aesthetic.
I continue to paint images of the saints, angels, families, musicians and workers in the previous manner as well.
