loftgallery And Corsicana

The loftgallery in downtown Corsicana is a home gallery located upstairs at 202 North Beaton. The gallery showcases the work of painter DeoSoliDeo Tim Pattison as well as local artists from around Texas.
When first introduced to the delightful little city of Corsicana we noticed two things right away. First, we saw a charming downtown with old buildings, many quaint shops and mature oak trees wrapped in lights and ready for evening. After exploring a little we noticed that there was no art gallery.
To be clear, Corsicana is home to 100 West, a premier residency program for artists and writers. Housed in the stately Odd Fellows Hall, a historic brick building at the north side of downtown, 100 West is a treasure that most small towns could only dream of having.
Though they host events and regular art open studios, 100 West is not a gallery. Visitors to Corsicana cannot walk in and see art on any given Saturday. In addition, many downtown antique shops offer some art pieces but focus on furniture and home decor. The Warehouse Living Arts Center shows local artists work. It is primarily a community theater center however. There is no commercial gallery exhibiting contemporary art.
When eventually moving to Corsicana we purposefully chose a downtown loft space overlooking the downtown we liked so much. We envisioned a dedicated space for art within our home and found exactly what we were looking for in the old Rio Theater building which had been remodeled into two beautiful apartments. With hardwood floors, twelve foot ceilings and windows looking onto the street below, the front room offers an ideal showroom for visual art.

Because of the festival schedule for Tornillo Fine Art I am not available to manage a full time gallery. The hybrid home/gallery model enables us to exhibit work, house rotating shows and offer an art alternative in the downtown.

loftgallery is open by appointment. Or just show up at the red door and call or text to come up and see us!

Coming in the month of March, loftgallery is proud to present the paintings of Lynn LaRose in the exhibit American Standard. LaRose paints vivid, rich and detailed canvases from that other “mid-century America”: old telephones, typewriters, bicycles, front porches and vintage pickup trucks.

Join us for an opening reception on Saturday, March 2 from 5-8pm, upstairs at 202 North Beaton. The loftgallery is a home gallery in downtown Corsicana, TX.
